13 years ago I was at the end of my first pregnancy and I thought I would not have this beautiful baby by Mother’s Day. I was worried I wasn’t a mother yet. What I then realized I already was a mother. I was caring for and supporting this bean growing inside me, months and really years before I was actually physically pregnant. So, Reader, YES HAPPY MOTHERS DAY! 🎉 And, this brings up two thoughts for me: Acting as if you are…_______ (identity you wish to be) Honoring and celebrating your...

I want to thank my dear nor cal friend for inspiring me this week with all our traded voice memos on Acai Bowls and chalky tasting shakes. I called first and told her I was drinking this absolutely disgusting shake. (I usually put beef protein isolate protein powder in my shakes, but I was out so I used an unflavored pea protein one.) 😬 Reader, it was very awful. Mis-take noted. We will not be using using that recipe again (also brain thinking it needs more fruit ETC)! My friend then responds...

I am a mermaid…no really I am, Reader ! And though a bit RIP, a bunch of friends and I were part of this paddle boarding group, the South Bay Mermaids, which we started around 2001. Most of these beautiful women are still in my life today. I am so grateful for you my dear mermaids!! So, Reader, what I mean to say is water helps me access my magic. Whether its surfing, swimming, paddling, soul soaks in the tub, the water is nourishing and life giving to me. In yoga, we call this nourishing...

hey hey Reader, April is moving quickly. And with this new moon and spring energy what can you call into your life as VIRA energy? In Prana Flow, we call this VIRA BHAKTI. This beautiful energy to be an everyday hero for yourself, your family, your work in the world, for your community. My work with my teacher Shiva Rea, I was reflecting on this vira energy. Tending the fire of my own life. You can also ask these reflection questions in your heart. So stop now and EXHALE. Take a breath or 3...

So hey! Reader! I was in the bedtime snuggle / book reading moment with my 9 y.o and we were reading a fave book of mine, “The Three Questions” by Jon This IS by far one of my most favorite times of the day. I love the reading and the snuggling and the connecting, especially important when there has been a disconnect or something to repair from the day. Which - sigh - there usually is. The book had me thinking of the three questions which are originally from Leo Tolstoy. When is the best time...

This has been a special week, Reader. My little one turned the big 9 years old! And David and I celebrated our 20th anniversary!!! Yes, our anniversary is on “April Fools Day.” 😆 (It was yes a bit of a joke for my mother in law but also we were headed to Bhutan for our honeymoon and we needed to leave on a certain date…) For our anniversary date, David and I ran with our Australian shepherd, Laika on the trails near our house. While Laika is off leash, since she is a herding dog, she...

I just realized this myself, Reader, and I was like WHOA!!!! As a mom with kids in school, now is my time to REFLECT on all that's happened (that I made happen!) since September. And ask myself: Have I moved closer to those guiding stars (my goals)? Is there some other thing / way of being / call to adventure that is unfinished or needs more forward progress? 🔥 Because in 11 weeks, when Jr. Lifeguard carpools start, schedules are regularly irregular, and I get to enjoy more time with my boys,...

Hi hi Reader! The equinox is upon us. The 1/2 way point between the winter solstice and the summer solstice. It’s OUR opportunity to listen into our light and our dark —- what’s churning, what’s composting, what’s being planted. Do yourself a favor and RECLAIM sacred solitude to DIVE IN and find out what’s important to you… what behaviors you are ready to let go of ~ what are you calling in ~ Take that breath. Take the walk. Have the difficult conversation. Put your phone down and APPRECIATE...

Hi hi Reader! Have I told you how much I love math? I have always loved math and if I wasn’t in my healer / yogi / coach / mom lifeline right now 😆, I would’ve been a finance major and done something with that! ➡️or a choreographer ➡️ or a pediatric cardiac surgeon! Now, I use my math skills to enjoy working with the Quickbooks for our businesses. My dancing skills are being channeled into weekly hula practice. The dreams of being a pediatric cardiac surgeon went into my work with kids and...
