It’s the breath!

Hi hi Reader!

Throughout some of my day I am doing and being on autopilot - the “needs doing” parts of life.

When I can stop and attend to my breath - even just for 1-2 cycles…it grounds me back into my physical body and also gives me clarity, calm, and focus.

I would say most transitions with my boys are a bit hectic (with still the question of if Gordie has any shoes on when we leave the house😆).

I have made a new practice of getting into my car and setting my hand on my heart and breathing 1-3 breaths.

I hear these words:

“Feel the breath breathing you. It has the direct connection to the quiet and clear words of your soul.”

The fastest way to downregulate your nervous system is to exhale LONGER than your inhale.

And you can inhale longer or in segments and that will rev up your engine!

You may have practiced “box breathing” before and it highlights the four phases of your breath:

  1. Inhale
  2. Suspension - or pause
  3. Exhale
  4. Vacation - or pause

Today is not the day we learn a million different breathwork techniques, but you can change any or all these cycles to create a healing practice for yourself.

Guess what?

If you string together 1-2-3+ breaths, you’re also meditating.

I SO tricked you into that!

Clarity, calm, and focus are absolutely within your control.

Here’s to you and your well perfused (deeply oxygenated and healing) body, mind, and soul.
