Hi hiReader! This week in our house we are reflecting on “What do you want to learn this summer?” This was of course a question I proposed, followed by my boys groaning, “NOOOOOO schoolwork, Mom!”. But I flipped it for them - they were surprised - and I said school work is off limits for the learning in summer plan! My answers were YES! And Hmmm… *School teacher disclaimer - summer slide is real over here. I just can’t fight it. Thank you for helping me! And..My older son wants to learn how to scuba dive. My younger son and husband haven’t committed to anything yet. I plan to finish my online courses for marma therapy and mental performance for sport, and declutter my room (👀this will be most challenging thing). The learning is finding out what’s exciting for you, committing yourself to a goal or a project, and (the most important) BEING CONSISTENT in your effort. Much like the HEROIC soul force equation: (E x F x WIN)^C = Soul Force Energy x Focus x What’s Important Now… With that “C” at the end is Consistency. That’s where your power lies. This consistency creates momentum and when you compound these gains over a week, a month, a year, your evolution and growth are sky high! In whatever and whomever you are growing and evolving to be…the power of your consistency matters the most! What’s important to you? -Learning a new sport? -Changing your self talk -Memorizing some poetry or sacred text? -Reading some books? -Building something or fixing something? -Planting and taking care of nature? Hey hey Reader! Four weeks until summer break over here…I am not fist pumping because I am having a hard school semester 😆 BUT I am looking over my affirmations / wishes / to-do list… And trying to make sure all things are done before the kids are home for summer break. I had wanted to finish a couple of coaching courses and another healer course before June 11th. After checking in with what has been done and what’s LEFT to do, I am coming up short! I am frustrated. I didn’t get it all done....
I love love love the energy of my house. It is a home with all the “sounds of life.” (A term my yoga teacher, Shiva Rea uses.) It’s filled with laughter, joy, brothers wrestling, lots of legos, Alexa music choices of Metallica, Crazy Frog… It’s a full on sensory experience. Which is wonderful AND can be “too much for my nervous system.” (Says ME, OFTEN!!) 13 years ago I was at the end of my first pregnancy and I thought I would not have this beautiful baby by Mother’s Day. I was worried I wasn’t a mother yet. What I then realized I already was a mother. I was caring for and supporting this bean growing inside me, months and really years before I was actually physically pregnant.
