So, Reader remember when I said I was getting a space!!! It’s real. It’s happening in real time. Then I got amped, did some promo things and I had momentum! Then life happened ( I got sick, a child got sick, lost some sleep, nutritionally I was wonky) and I completely got de- railed. Has this ever happened to you?!!!! One moment you are SO crushing it / in the flow and then you get “ka-blammo’ed”. (This is a straight up kids graphic novel term 😆). Frustrating. Two things that I do when this happens: ~I surrender to the flow AND ~I take an action step If I try to control when people will feel better or why its raining outside or (insert your sitch here), it feels like kicking in quicksand and I keep sinking. When I radically accept the challenge / obstacle or “gift” then I can process my emotions and make a plan! Getting out of this “mental quicksand” is possible with an aligned action step (however big or small). For me, it was starting one email. For you it could be: ~adding back in a nighttime ritual ~going to bed 1 min earlier than last night ~listen before reacting ~take that work break outside ~say no instead of yes / or yes instead of no ~say no to that next Girl Scout cookie!!!! What are you surrendering and taking action on? Hit reply and let me know! I love hearing how you are and what you are working on! P.s. I actually take some good breaths before all that goes down and deeply connect to my intuition before I make any plans or action steps. p.p.s. Wednesday healing days! (Try my new booking link here!) So hey! Reader! I was in the bedtime snuggle / book reading moment with my 9 y.o and we were reading a fave book of mine, “The Three Questions” by Jon This IS by far one of my most favorite times of the day. I love the reading and the snuggling and the connecting, especially important when there has been a disconnect or something to repair from the day. Which - sigh - there usually is. The book had me thinking of the three questions which are originally from Leo Tolstoy. When is the best time...
This has been a special week, Reader. My little one turned the big 9 years old! And David and I celebrated our 20th anniversary!!! Yes, our anniversary is on “April Fools Day.” 😆 (It was yes a bit of a joke for my mother in law but also we were headed to Bhutan for our honeymoon and we needed to leave on a certain date…) For our anniversary date, David and I ran with our Australian shepherd, Laika on the trails near our house. While Laika is off leash, since she is a herding dog, she...
I just realized this myself, Reader, and I was like WHOA!!!! As a mom with kids in school, now is my time to REFLECT on all that's happened (that I made happen!) since September. And ask myself: Have I moved closer to those guiding stars (my goals)? Is there some other thing / way of being / call to adventure that is unfinished or needs more forward progress? 🔥 Because in 11 weeks, when Jr. Lifeguard carpools start, schedules are regularly irregular, and I get to enjoy more time with my boys,...
