So hey! Reader! I was in the bedtime snuggle / book reading moment with my 9 y.o and we were reading a fave book of mine, “The Three Questions” by Jon This IS by far one of my most favorite times of the day. I love the reading and the snuggling and the connecting, especially important when there has been a disconnect or something to repair from the day. Which - sigh - there usually is. The book had me thinking of the three questions which are originally from Leo Tolstoy.
The book frames the questions in a more of a Buddhist way of living in the present moment with the people around you and being in service to what they need and how to help them. *Which has me thinking: What’s the aligned action you can do NOW… Firstly - for YOURSELF. Hi hiReader! This week in our house we are reflecting on “What do you want to learn this summer?” This was of course a question I proposed, followed by my boys groaning, “NOOOOOO schoolwork, Mom!”. But I flipped it for them - they were surprised - and I said school work is off limits for the learning in summer plan! My answers were YES! And Hmmm… *School teacher disclaimer - summer slide is real over here. I just can’t fight it. Thank you for helping me! And..My older son wants to learn how...
Hey hey Reader! Four weeks until summer break over here…I am not fist pumping because I am having a hard school semester 😆 BUT I am looking over my affirmations / wishes / to-do list… And trying to make sure all things are done before the kids are home for summer break. I had wanted to finish a couple of coaching courses and another healer course before June 11th. After checking in with what has been done and what’s LEFT to do, I am coming up short! I am frustrated. I didn’t get it all done....
I love love love the energy of my house. It is a home with all the “sounds of life.” (A term my yoga teacher, Shiva Rea uses.) It’s filled with laughter, joy, brothers wrestling, lots of legos, Alexa music choices of Metallica, Crazy Frog… It’s a full on sensory experience. Which is wonderful AND can be “too much for my nervous system.” (Says ME, OFTEN!!)
