This has been a special week, Reader. My little one turned the big 9 years old! And David and I celebrated our 20th anniversary!!! Yes, our anniversary is on “April Fools Day.” 😆 (It was yes a bit of a joke for my mother in law but also we were headed to Bhutan for our honeymoon and we needed to leave on a certain date…) For our anniversary date, David and I ran with our Australian shepherd, Laika on the trails near our house. While Laika is off leash, since she is a herding dog, she dovetails between the two of us and will stop and wait if one of us is behind. I thought of how sometimes my life as a mom, in this season of my life, is similar to this. I get a bit ahead, but then I wait (physically, mental-emotionally, or spiritually) for my family to catch up or to make sure they are okay. And though I love this, sometimes my forward progression feels slower or more distracted than I would like. Have you ever felt this way about your career~your goals and dreams~your life journey? You are not alone. It’s just part of your nature while on this mom / parent journey. So, what are you running or walking towards? What’s on your list “to do” or “to be?” Here’s to loving the process as well as progression and the waiting for those we love to “catch up” to us. Xo be well 🫶cp Ps. So hey! Reader! I was in the bedtime snuggle / book reading moment with my 9 y.o and we were reading a fave book of mine, “The Three Questions” by Jon This IS by far one of my most favorite times of the day. I love the reading and the snuggling and the connecting, especially important when there has been a disconnect or something to repair from the day. Which - sigh - there usually is. The book had me thinking of the three questions which are originally from Leo Tolstoy. When is the best time...
I just realized this myself, Reader, and I was like WHOA!!!! As a mom with kids in school, now is my time to REFLECT on all that's happened (that I made happen!) since September. And ask myself: Have I moved closer to those guiding stars (my goals)? Is there some other thing / way of being / call to adventure that is unfinished or needs more forward progress? 🔥 Because in 11 weeks, when Jr. Lifeguard carpools start, schedules are regularly irregular, and I get to enjoy more time with my boys,...
Hi hi Reader! The equinox is upon us. The 1/2 way point between the winter solstice and the summer solstice. It’s OUR opportunity to listen into our light and our dark —- what’s churning, what’s composting, what’s being planted. Do yourself a favor and RECLAIM sacred solitude to DIVE IN and find out what’s important to you… what behaviors you are ready to let go of ~ what are you calling in ~ Take that breath. Take the walk. Have the difficult conversation. Put your phone down and APPRECIATE...
